Message from the President

Peggy Bodnar, RDN, LD, SNS
ISNA President 2017-2018

Welcome Back!

I'm very excited for the 2017-2018 school year and the opportunity to represent the Idaho School Nutrition Association in my position as President.

In my short 13 years in school nutrition, I have been amazed at the passion and commitment of those choosing this field as a career, the numerous years of experience and the quality of customer service provided.

At the national level, the School Nutrition Association has continued to focus on setting the standards  for employee education and training, providing members with many resources for education, and for sharing information related to school nutrition programs.  This is very important   since today, the National School Lunch Program is the largest federal child nutrition program and the second-largest single source of federal funding for elementary and secondary schools.

At the State level, the Idaho School Nutrition Association board is committed to assist their members by providing leadership in education and training and to assure membership is represented at State and National levels.  The board will work hard for members to assure systems and processes continue to be evaluated and improved and that resources are used wisely.  We want to hear from our members on what topics are most important to them to assure our focus remains beneficial for all.

Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve.  I look forward to hearing from you and to meeting you at conferences, meetings and training sessions.

Here's hoping you all have a successful and enjoyable year!
Best wishes!
- Peggy
